Scout is a small studio in Perth, Western Australia. We are inspired by things right here in our own town, our own backyard. Natural fibres are a big factor in everything we do. Amy Hawkes has sewn and stitched since single digits. Her Mum taught her all the basics and yes indeed, still checks her seams. Hand stitching, photographing and stencilling, Amy has produced a small line of unique wares for the home.

The aesthetic is clean, with simple lines and timelessly modern appeal.

Cute But Deadly

Sewing has always been a huge part of Cute But Deadly founder Paigee Woods life. She was sewing buttons before she could write her name, and she hasn't put a needle down since. She takes as much care into choosing her suppliers as she does in making her creations. That is why she only uses local and sustainable products in everything she makes, even the stuffing is eco friendly. She loves colour, the brighter the better and she believes it shows, from fluorescent dragons to rainbow unicorns.

Growing up in Yorkshire, England, Cher Shackleton was always surrounded by craftsmen and women, actors, singers, stonemasons, carvers and painters. With a background in textiles, Cher learned knitting, spinning and weaving before she enrolled in a pottery class. Now a Perth-based ceramicist and President of the Ceramic Arts Association of WA, Cher has exhibited widely throughout Western Australia and still gains great pleasure from her ‘wonderful journey’ of working with clay.

Sally Brown is a qualified jeweller who designs and creates her work under her label, Adorned By Sally. She is very passionate about her craft and loves to create beautiful and elegant pieces. Sally draws her inspiration from flowing lines, floral motifs and natural forms. Her design style is feminine and she loves to use materials that allow her to create intricate designs. All of Sally's work is designed and made at her home studio in Perth.

Her work is inspired by the colours and textures of rock and stone; the marbling of her work references the natural phenomena of Western Australia – geographic landscapes and weather formations.

Guaranteed to elicit compliments, each pair is designed by Carla and Kate, named after their friends, and carefully assembled by hand in Fremantle.
