Steven James Finch

Steven (SJ) Finch is a writer and community artist living and working in Boorloo on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja. They are a migrant settler with Cantonese, Hokkien, and English heritage living on stolen Aboriginal land.

 

They were the former editor of dotdotdash, WA creative literature and art journal. They are a co-director of Paper Mountain, an artist-run gallery and project space in Northbridge, and a board member of Propel Youth Arts WA. They are the current Project Coordinator for the Community Arts Network’s Lotterywest Story Street project, a decolonial storytelling project with CaLD communities in the outer suburbs of Perth. Their work involves printmaking, literature, and performance. They like decoloniality, feminism, and critical animal studies.
