Sete Tele's practice is place based, and play based, traversing performance, photography, and improvisation. Tele creates performance works that are ephemeral, but with a tangible residue that resonates with the viewer / the participant.
For his contemporary dance work, Tele works with abstraction and improvisation to generate movement material with the impetus to view and to express his world through the prism of water and light.
For his photo-based work, Tele primarily works with found objects, striving to capture what lies on the peripheral that is hinted at by the object. For Tele, photography is often used as a means to frame his improvised solo performances.
