Bethwyn Porters’ practice is inspired by her fascination with the natural world and the fragility of the environment. The often uneasy liaison between humans and their surroundings is a commonly explored theme. Her love of nature emerges as an underlying focus in all her work, whether it be two dimensional such as drawing, painting, and printmaking or three dimensional pieces such as ceramic, silverwork, and plique-a-jour enamelling.
Her current work with the printmaking collective sees Beth focusing on producing hand pulled prints, many of which are unique state monotypes. Her passionate interest in experimentation, improvisation and creative use of tools and technical processes all come together to further enrich her practice.
